Falkland Islands Roving - Peaches - 4 oz braid
The Falklands Islands are located off the southern coast of Argentina. Interestingly enough, there are multiple breeds of sheep present on the Falkland Islands (including Cheviot, Romney, Corriedale, Polwarth, and Merino), and wool sold from the Falklands is a mix of all these breeds. The island also boasts a robust population of penguins - who nest on decades old mine fields! Numbers vary over the years, but it is common for sheep to outnumber humans 153:1, while penguins outnumber humans by 300:1....now that's a lot of penguins!!!
This mill processed roving is soft and luxurious. A good staple length of around 4" makes this an easy spinning fiber. Hand dyed braids, no two exactly alike; friends, not lovers.
And the standard "color" disclaimer...: I do my best to take and post accurate pictures but please keep in mind that colors vary slightly from monitor to monitor and it may look a little different in person. If you are uncertain about the color, please send me a message requesting more photos.

Lady Led
Lady-led and running. We back the gals (lots of our good shepherds are actually shepherdesses), and are proud to take our place in the sisterhood of fiber that stretches back to the ancient world.
