What questions do you have?
How on earth do you say your name? And what does it mean?
"Aoire Maith" is Irish for 'good shepherd' and is pronounced "ear-eh mAA" with a very hard A sound and a complete disregard for the "ith" at the end of the word (the Irish language is known to use lots of letters but say only a few of them lol).
What kind of sheep do you have?
I get this one a lot! I always say that I have FRIENDS with sheep....so I get to play with fiber, and snuggle lambs (again, good for the soul), and not deal with poo! It is the best of both worlds for me! Plus, this way, I get to enjoy a variety of breeds of sheep without having to manage breeding arrangements for 30+ breeds of sheep at once!
Wait, where are you hiding the merino?
It is rare that I will have merino in my shop. It does come along sometimes but is not something that I seek out. There are SO many other fascinating breeds of sheep out there, I cannot settle on just one. And many of the breeds I carry rival merino for softness!
Okay, then what breeds do you carry, and why would I want to use them?
I typically have upwards of 30 breeds available at any given time. Some of that has yet to be processed, so if you're looking for something specific, just ask! But some of the breeds that I pretty much always have are: Shetland, Lincoln Longwool, Tunis, Border Leicester, Oxford, Jacob, Navajo-Churro, Border Cheviot, Cotswold, Gulf Coast Native, Hamp x Dorset, and Lincolnfolk.
The biggest reason why you should explore these other breeds is that wool is amazingly versatile. Each breed will behave differently, whether you are a spinner, knitter, crocheter, weaver, felter, or whatever-other-fiber-crafter-you-may-be. Each breed is more or less useful for different projects and end products. You will grow as a crafter simply by trying out a new breed!
Where does your fiber come from?
Most often, our fiber comes from small shepherds and is fully processed by me. I strive to always note on each single breed listing where the fiber originated, and if it was processed in whole or in part by someone other than myself. Blended batts and handwoven items don't typically have this information listed, but it is available upon request. If I missed one, or you have further questions, send me an email at case@aoiremaithfibrestudios.com
What is SE2SE / Shave Em to Save Em
Shave Em to Save Em is a program created by The Livestock Conservancy as an effort to save breeds of sheep that are considered endangered in the United States. There are currently 24 breeds of sheep on that list. When you join the program as an artist, you purchase 4 oz of each breed and collect stickers from providers like me to add to the passport that the conservancy sends you. As you complete breeds, you are eligible to win prizes! Check out more info here.
Is my product in stock?
Unless an item is marked as a 'pre-order,' then yes! If for some reason, there will be a delay in shipping, we will let you know.
What is shipping going to cost? Will I pay for it?
We are happy to offer you real-time shipping quotes for all items. Orders of $125+ ship free in the continental United States with no coupon code.
Can I track my order?
Absolutely! The easiest way is to use the "track" button in your shipping confirmation email. If you have trouble with the link, or are unable to locate it, please email me at case@aoiremaithfibrestudios.com and I can provide tracking.
When will my order ship and arrive?
Unless an item is marked as a 'pre-order,' all orders ship within 2 business days, with many orders shipping next day. If for some reason, there will be a delay in shipping, we will let you know via email. Most orders shipped in the continental United States will arrive between 2-5 days after shipment, though AMFS has no control over the swiftness of the shipping once it has left our facility.
Can I change my address on the order I just placed?
Contact us as soon as you realize there has been a mistake in the address. If you contact us prior to receiving a shipping confirmation email, there should be no issue in changing the address. Once the shipping confirmation email goes out, it is unlikely that we will be able to change the address, unless you contact us immediately upon receipt of that email. If the address change significantly affects shipping, an invoice or credit will be issued, whichever is the case.
How can I cancel my order?
If you need to cancel an order once it is placed, send us an email immediately. If you have already received a shipping confirmation email, there is no way to cancel the order. We will do our best to accommodate.
What if I need to return or exchange a product?
If there is an issue with a fleece or fiber, contact me immediately. I strive to represent all items truthfully and disclose any shortcomings. All return or exchange concerns should go through case@aoiremaithfibrestudios.com. All custom order items are non-returnable.

We want to make a difference
We are registered as a provider for the Shave 'Em to Save 'Em program from The Livestock Conservancy, which encourages fiber artists to purchase wool from endangered sheep breeds here in the United States.
The current list includes: Black Welsh Mountain, Clun Forest, Cotswold, Dorset Horn, Florida Cracker, Gulf Coast, Jacob, Karakul, Leicester Longwool, Linciln Longwool, Navajo-Churro, Oxford, Romeldale/CVM, Santa Cruz, Shetland, Shropshire, Teeswater, and Tunis.
There are a few more, but these are breeds that we carry on a regular basis, which we proudly source from from small, mostly local, shepherds.
