Mellie Art Batt
Mellie Art Batt
Low stock: 1 left
I read a book with a character named Mellie, a little girl whose mother and baby brother had drowned, and whose father fell into a bad lot and ended up executed for murder. Mellie was a frightened, broken little girl who by the grace of God found a loving home and a purpose beyond what she could have imagined. I thought of her while I was blending this batt. Strong, with Border Leicester and Lincoln; soft with Teeswater, mohair, and silk; dark depths of black roots, highlighted by spots of white and beautified with pinks and teals. Softness in strength, beauty in ashes. Just how I see Mellie.
Mellie Art Batt
These 2 oz batts are considered "semi-smooth" art batts, as they do have a few large visible locks. However, you will be able to spin these as smooth or as funky as you would like.
Comprised of 50% Border Leicester + Lincoln and 50% Silk, mohair, + Teeswater, this mix has oodles of soft handfeel and enough texture to keep you interested as you spin. Staple lengths range from 1" (the silk) to 6" (the border leicester).
And the standard "color" disclaimer...: I do my best to take and post accurate pictures but please keep in mind that colors vary slightly from monitor to monitor and it may look a little different in person. If you are uncertain about the color, please send me a message requesting more photos.

Lady-led and running. We back the gals (lots of our good shepherds are actually shepherdesses), and are proud to take our place in the sisterhood of fiber that stretches back to the ancient world.
