Growing up, I remember my grandmother had butterflies in her bathroom. Not the cute, cartoon or hand drawn kind. The "pins stuck to a piece of cardboard" kind. I'll admit, I was totally creeped out by them. As an adult, butterflies are one of the only creatures of its kind that I enjoy in any fashion. Carding up these batts, I didn't have butterflies in mind (though I had just recently read a fiction book where the Monarch played a role), but after these were done, I found all I could see were the butterflies in my grandmother's bathroom. I'm not sure what species those were, but an internet search lead me to the Baltimore Checkerspot, and it seemed like the perfect blend of these colors.

Baltimore Checkerspot - Art Batt

These 2.2 oz batts are considered "smooth" art batts, as they do not have large visible locks or sparkle of any kind. You will be able to spin these as smooth or as funky as you would like.

Comprised of 50% Border Leicester wool (the dark chocolate) and 50% Lincoln longwool (the orange and yellow). Both fleece had very long locks, over 5", so keep that in mind when spinning.
